  1. Wonderful images of Buttermilk Falls flooding one year and barely dripping the next. And now I know that jewelweed is native. The pig race made me howl. I wonder if the same pig always wins–but there must be enough Oreos for everyone. Over here on Seneca Lake, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wed. Sept. 26 at 2 pm at the Hector Fire House for the NYS Route 414 Seneca Lake Scenic Byway. Local conservationists will turn out to support responsible development and the tourist industry. Rt. 414 is beautiful! Thanks for keeping us conscious of the beauty of our area.

    • Yay, congratulations on the scenic byway! Now the Finger Lakes portion of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor will have three scenic byways (including Cayuga Lake and Route 90). Tourism yes! Pollution no!
