Park Minute 66: Porcupine at Taughannock Falls

We don’t usually see porcupines in public around here, but during the long drought of 2016, this porcupine visited Taughannock Falls for a drink and a dip.

Perhaps his normal sources of water in the woods had dried up and he was forced to show up at this popular waterfall. This video was shot in September 2016 at Taughannock Falls State Park in Trumansburg, NY.

Then we go to south Texas to the Gulf of Mexico and camp near the beach at Padre Island National Seashore, the longest undeveloped barrier island in the world (70 miles!).
