We explore the upper gorge and Lucifer Falls, some improvements on the Gorge Trail in the lower park, and compare the Lower Falls now with what it was like during summer.

Trails Makeover

The Finger Lakes State Parks Trails Crew is improving our favorite trails. In this episode (178) of Walk in the Park, we go to upper Buttermilk Falls State Park with them and see how they have removed old, hazardous trail structures and built new stairs up steep slopes, boardwalks over wet areas, a “turnpike,” and even brought their building materials to the trail by canoe.
