This small species of fish has been found near Taughannock Falls State Park. Though it may feed some on the invasive zebra mussel, it is not likely to have a significant impact on reducing that species. Instead, it will likely cause a reduction of native fish due to habitat competition and it’s appetite for fish eggs.
